Expat Event "Life, Love & Law in the Netherlands" (free event but regsitration is mandatory)

You are an expat and living in The Netherlands? Have you settled? Can you adjust to Dutch culture and way of living? Do you live here with your family? Does everyone respond to his or her new environment in the same way? If you came here as a single, chances are you meet your significant other or already have, and want to make the next step. Move in together, or get married! And what happens when you have a child? Are you aware of the legal consequences these steps bring about, or when you break up? What happens then? All complicated matters and even more when you live abroad.

As family lawyers we often get introduced with people, young families, when trouble starts. However, we would like to raise awareness of parts of Dutch family law upfront, and prevent troubles afterwards.
For example, what are the legal consequences of:

buying a house
being or becoming a (legal) parent
getting married or move in together
breaking up or divorce
And what if you can’t settle in The Netherlands? Or if there is tension between you, your partner, your children or between family members and the new environment?

During this evening we will address these subjects and answer any questions you might have about family law in The Netherlands or living in The Netherlands.

Liesbeth Bouwhuis from Bepper Coaching and the Family lawyers of RWV Advocaten would like to invite you for an
informative evening with a social drink afterwards.

Dear international families,

My name is Jiayi Ma, a master student studying integrated product design in faculty industrial design in TU Delft. I am doing my graduation project with a topic of "Design innovative toys balancing rebellion and conformism by using 3d printing techniques for children". Currently, I have come up with two concepts. My first concept is turning the 2D game “Find the difference” into 3D. Children are allowed to make and guess the difference on 3d printing toys individually or with others. The second concept is mainly about happiness extension of joyful feelings when children receive gifts. In this concept, children are given several toys day by day. These toys are able to consist a scenario such as the life in forest/universe/sea... Then children draw what they would like to have in this scenario and send picture to designers. They would receive a real model according to their drawings to complete their creation. Both of my ideas are not quite completed. Therefore, I would like to modify my concept by listening to children’s ideas on them. I need the help with children in 5-8 years old. I would give them several toys and ask questions during their play. I think the whole research process lasts about half an hour.

I am not speaking Dutch, luckily, when I search on internet, I find this website. I think my research topic is interesting and fun for both children and parents. It really make contribution to children's well-being for the society. If your family is kindly to participate in this research and has children in 5-8 years old or know who is suitable for my project, please contact me. I will bring some 3d printing gifts for the participants. Thanks so much. It would give me so much support.

Kind Regards,
Jiayi
